Urban Life in 2035

#UHCPlaceGroup

Our urban environment will change, brining new challenges to people

Climate change resulting from planetary dysregulations challenges the current urban order; the ability to visit local shops, commute, and casually interact with people.

Cities established under one climate are at risk of crumbling under another. This audience-participatory session explores this through 3 different day-in-the-life scenarios.

The scenarios will look at how future urban challenges for 3 different demographics will have likely health outcomes. Randomly assigned groups will then, inspired by the presentation of the reports, start redesign Local Authority Design Codes, Health Impact Assessments, and GP Patient Surveys

The National Model Design Code provides detailed guidance on the production of design codes, guides and policies to promote successful design.

How would they reflect the needs of more vulnerable citizens to mitigate the risks of climate change?

A Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is a practical approach used to judge the potential health effects of a policy, programme or project on a population.

How do these start to be relevant to the intersectionalities in cities?

What are the types of interactions GPs should have with citizens that relate to place?

This session is aimed at helping all our place focused members onboard the research and insights in a practical way to support their day-to-day work, with the aim of incremental improvement of practice.

Each groups will have a lead from the Urban Health Council to help steer the thinking.

The timings will be roughly

We’ll be working from shared Boards in Zoom in teams to ideate and collaborate together.
