An Anti-Racist Approach To Covid-Rehab

Anti-Racism is structured as a deliberate framework and set of clear actions to provide equitable opportunities for all people on an individual and systemic level.

Given how this pandemic disproportionately affected Black and Asian communities in the UK and Black and Indigenous communities in the US due to structural racism. We need to employ and anti-racist and race theory methodology to the rehabilitation work.

This roundtable will be discussing and covering the following

  • How structural racism plays a key role in these communities being exposed to disproportionate levels of environmental and psychosocial stressors.

  • The clear links between the places we live and health.

  • A non colonialist framing of health and rehabilitation.

Format

This roundtable is a collaborative conversation between members and attendees on how to ensure Covid-19 rehabilitation has an anti-racist approach.
